In my experience there is no correlation between aggressive behavior and honey production.  Production is not a function of aggression.  In fact to much aggression can result in a deminished population.
I've seen a lot of aggressive hives with lots of stores, but I've seen just as many with little or nothing in the way of stores.  The same thing can be said of calm bees.
Production of the hive is more the result of production of brood by the queen.  The hive with a good queen that maximizes the available space in the brood chamber will create the population necessary to be productive.  Sometimes those queens can show aggressive traits in their young and others will produce calm gentle bees.
