New guy

I guess I'm what you would call a pre-newbie. I don't have any bees yet. I intended to start this past spring, but the tax man and an unexpected knee surgeon got all my money.
I've been reading everything I can get my hands on and talking with a couple of old timers, trying to bone up on everything.
This forum seems to have a lot of experienced folks on it and I have a lot of questions. I want to do this right the first time.  Thanks in advance for your help and patience.
