Ferals and Opinions on possible new genotypes

Don't worry, I frustrate myself more than anybody! 

Homogeneous is ambiguous here.  If you compare the color of Cats, you can see they don't all just turn grey.  Even though there is some similarity between the mating habits of a Queen cat, and Queen bee, they still produce all different sizes, colors, and temperaments.  Sometimes in the same litter.

Maybe you are seeing that "feral" bees are the superior genetics for survival without manipulation.  Even though we have imported several different strains, the "natural" ones survive the best and so those genetics keep winning over time.

It's kind of the opposite of what your original premise was.
