Congrats Annette !

I have had my best year as well.  I think you're right about the rain.

My harvest looks similar in color to yours, but we dont't have any berries and I think my area is normally nectar poor.  Either that or I am just coincidentally doing something right this year.

I usually get very little honey around here, so this was a surprise. They are still bringing it in.

That's a good load of honey Annette!!! How many pounds is that?

People in my area have been reporting good amounts of honey as well.
One first year beek I mentor and bought a single medium hive from me in April, harvested 40 pounds just two weeks ago
with another medium on top filled. April to Aug, 4 months only and the hive produced over 40 pounds!

I harvested about 100 pounds of honey from one hive and have another medium filled. Crazy year! Hope next year will be the same.

why do beekeepers refer to the amount in pounds instead of gallons?

CONGRATULATIONS ANNETTE!!!  :rainbowflower: Wow, the girls were busy and giving their best!  :bee:

And oooh, so yummy, and I love the cute arrangements of the honeybears. If it had been up to me, all honey containers need to have a bear in it, hahaha, those are my favorite!

The blackberry tones in the honey must make it extra delicious too! I love how honey can hold in all the nuances of the flower. I always hear wonderful things about specialty honeys like Black Sage Honey, Orange Blossom Honey, the Lavender Honey, and the famous Heather Honey from Scotland. And Blackberry Honey is making me drooooooooooooooool!

I love watching the gourmet cooking shows, and am always getting ideas from those shows and transferring them to the kitchen, lol!....And just thinking about all that honey is making me ultra hungry too!

Yum, yum, yum, yummmmmmmmmm!!!

About 32 lbs. But that doesn't include all the honey I left for the bees to clean up. all the drippy pans and such  and I figure another lb or so from what I can see accumulating in the pans right now.

The blackberry honey is the best honey I believe we get around here. Right now the star thistle is going strong.
