I have seen mention of a bee vacuum and bait hives ( to catch swarms ).

How do both these work ?

Thanks for the links

I was hoping the bee vacuum might be gentler on the bees but it sounds too lethal.

The bait hives sound like a waste of time also.

The other thing I was wondering about was one way bee escapes to clear hives but use them to clean up swarms in walls etc.

Any ideas.

"To get swarms, notify the local police and rescue people and the county agricultural extension office. If you want to do a lot of them run a yellow pages ad for swarm removal".

Yellow pages? :?  Michael, update your website!!!  :)

Already on swarm list with DPI. But didn't think about police and rescue. Good idea.

Bait hives are a useful tool.  I wouldn't count on them if you want bees and don't have them, but I do catch swarms.  It's like fishing.  When you find a good spot you can get them there every year.

>Yellow pages? huh  Michael, update your website!!!

Yes, some people when looking for a solution to their "bee" problem still look in the yellow pages.  Not me, of course...
