slight mishap

I had a slight mishap last week where my hive fell over. Basically the ground got soft and the cinderblock on one side sank down into the ground, the hive is pretty heavy with honey.  I wasn't home at the time, my bf called his beekeeper brother in law who came out and helped get everything upright.

How long should I wait before I check on them?

Did you get very much damage? I'd give it several days

No, not any real damage. Just a bunch of mad bees. My the b-inlaw got stung about 8 times, they got under his veil.  I was thinking of waiting a week for them to get settled back in.

I wouldn't bother them anyway unless you have a good reason, but a couple of days should calm them down.

It's been nearly a week. The only reason I have to bother them is to take off the honey supers that were nearly ready last week.  Just a note, I was looking at this hive the day it fell over and I said to myself. "Wow, that's leaning pretty good, I should fix that tonight when I get home."  It didn't make it that long  :shock:

Are you trying to get variatial honey?

If you can stand it, keep those supers on! We are getting Goldenrod and Aster/Mum flow very soon in Mass!  

Last year I took my supers off on  oct 1 - all survived.

this year I may go earlier (Sept 18) but only because of personal conflicts.

My supers are practically full, just waiting for the rest to get capped. and I don't have any extras, so I'm going to pull and extract. I may put them back on, or not, depending. . .
