I had set out five of the D Coates style swarm trap in the backyard about three weeks ago.  Each has a frame of drawn comb from my deadout.  They did have just a slight bit of honey in each one in the upper corners.  I put some of Tillie's LGO paste around the front and some liquid drops on the inside on the top bars.  I have had numerous bees "visiting" them over the past three weeks.  With the numbers increasing greatly over the past week.  I so hope to catch a swarm before too long.

Here my question.  I noticed some of them are stopping on the front and licking on the LGO paste.   Is that normal?  If I remember right it has LGO, Beeswax, and some oil in it.

Thanks James

I've never used Tillie's LGO paste.  Have any more details about it?  LGO, alone, has worked great for me in the past.

Bees are curious about all bee scents.
