Cross border shopping is sometimes worth it from here. The USA is just over 1 hr away.
Looking for quart sized jars.
I am wondering what kind of prices you all pay in the USA and where you get them. I would have access to northern NY state, in particular Ogdensburg/Massena area or Watertown area. Any info would be helpfull.

My best suggestion, Google. Gives me all the answers I need and comparable prices to what I search for. I actually had to do a similar search for bottles for if I begin a micro brewery for mead. Good luck
Check out West Coast Beekeepers on FB. A great place for Beekeepers along the west coast of America. All are welcome.

7.95 to 9.95 a dozen for quarts about a buck less for pints. Dont you guys have imperial quarts up there? I have been looking for some rings and lids for some of them. I bought them at a garage sale up there one time. Harold

"In the first place, we should insist that if the immigrant who comes here in good faith becomes an American and assimilates himself to us, he shall be treated on an exact equality with everyone else, for it is an outrage to discriminate against any such man because of creed, or birthplace, or origin. But this is predicated upon the person's becoming in every facet an American, and nothing but an American...There can be no divided allegiance here. Any man who says he is an American, but something else also, isn't an American at all. We have room for but one flag, the American flag...We have room for but one language here, and that is the English language...And we have room for but one sole loyalty and that is a loyalty to the American people."

Our prices seem to be around $1/jar (750ml) which to me is roughly 3/4 of a quart.
As for imperial quarts, we used to have them 40 yrs ago. I am not sure if we can get jars measured in quarts anymore. It seems to be all metric now.

So you are saying my Imperial quarts are obsolete?  :'(

Algonam

beehappy 1950, I'll have to check around before answering that one!

Our containers are all measured in ml now. Our fuel conversion is usually done in litres to imperial gallon (my truck gets 30 MPG-imperial)

I thought a quart was a quart ! I'll have to look that up....

and just to confuse things, almost everything on a residential construction site is measured in inches and feet. (the centimeter didn't take that well!!)

For a minute there, I thought you were pulling my leg!

then I found out ...
one imperial quart is approximately 1.2 US quarts.

Oh and I forgot to mention earlier, we grew up with MPH on our highways and were converted to KPH over time. Now our younger generations aren't familiar with the "mile". I turned 50 a few days ago....
