Could someone tell me how long i could wait before harvesting my honey?  I am a new beek this year.  I have four hives and all four hives have at least one full honey super on them.  The problem is, it will probably be at least two weeks before i will have the time to do any harvesting or at least before i can do any extracting.  Is it ok to leave the supers on the hive or should i be doing something else.  I have an additional honey super on the hives that are not completely full so i am not too worried about the bees being out of room

leave it on as long as you want.  here in michigan I usually just keep stacking them up until the end of Aug.   Some people place the empty one below the full one but even that isn't necessary

I would agree with danno on the harvesting.  After you harvest put your supers out a little ways in front of hives and they will clean up the comb.

Harvest them in a few weeks.   If you have sourwood trees in your area, wait until they have bloomed.  Harvest then if you want to do it all at one time.   They will not make any more honey until fall and will eat some of what is in your supers this summer until fall goldenrod.   And don't forget about SHB we have.
