Hi guys,

To help with my bad measuring and spacing judgement I am after a metal 9 frame spacing tool.

I was looking at getting one from Dadant but when their shipping calculator said postage would be $119 or something I decided..umm.. actually I just swore a bit.

Anyway, if anyone has one they don't want anymore I would be happy to give you some dollars and pay for postage as long as you don't need to send it on its own private jet.

Or I would appreciate if someone wouldn't mind receiving one from Dadant and then posting it to me. I would obviously cover all costs  :)

Thank you
Shane

Shane, do you just want to space 9 frames in a 10 frame box? You could knock something up out of timber couldn't you? Or metal if you're a bit handy. If you can build an electrical controller for an extractor you should be able to manufacture something; you've got man skills.

I started a drawing with measurements etc that I was going to send to the local engineering shop to put through the cnc water jet to cut out for me. But after a few drinks on the weekend I lost interest and thought it would be easier to just buy one  :-D

If I can get one for a good price and it works well I may look at making some for other people in Australia as it seems no one here sells them  :?

They're the same size, Jim, but they have to build them with the rabbets for the frames on the bottom of the boxes....and cut the handles upside down.  :-D

American blood spilled to protect the freedom and peace of people all over the world.  320,000 USA casualties in WWI, 1,076,000 USA casualties in WWII, 128,000 USA casualties in the Korean War, 211,000 casualties in the Vietnam "conflict", 57,000 USA casualties in "War on Terror".  Benghazi, Libya, 13 USA casualties. These figures don't include 70,000 MIA.  But, the leaders of one political party of the United States of America continue to make the statement..."What difference does it make?".

It seems that our boxes are 10mm (just over 3/8 inch) narrower internally than yours. Inner width is 362mm.

I wonder if your frame spacer would still work  :?

Why not just use the Stoller frame rest adapters that reduce the 10 frames to 9 frames, killing two birds with one stone, frame rest protection and spacing.  I have them in every hive and super I own .no crowding and fuller honey combs.  of course to each his own..
Bought 250 for .45 apiece from Rossman. now I see they are .65 apiece..got mine 6 yrs. ago. Beekeep getting expensive, huh?
