I opened my 2 'garden hives' today to feed and was amazed at how much comb they had built in just 2 days! They were building into the empty super that I put on for feeding and were already filling the 'wild' comb with feed! They have at least 2 frames with foundation that they have not drawn yet! Just shows that bees will do what bees want to do.

As an aside: I've taken to working my garden hives with no suit, just smoke, to show my neighbours how calm my bees are. There is a clear view of my hives from the street so today while I was feeding my bees I didn't notice I had an audience until I was asked why I was smoking the poor bees! LOL

Spear:  do you have empty frames in the super you put on for feeding?  how many?  I thought of doing that but wasn't sure if I should or not. Figured since the super was on there maybe it would get them started building in it and be ready when they needed it.
