With spring just around the corner, or at least that?s what they tell us.You cant prove it here, Below zero yesterday am and snow almost to my hips still. But, as spring comes on and the freeze / thaw cycles start heaving the ground, be sure to keep an eye on your hives. If your not on sturdy stands you may find you hives tipping with the movement in the ground. A few years back i had more hives then i had stands, so some were on pallets and another was on cement blocks. On morning i stepped out to head for work and could see several hives tipping. The one on blocks was so far over i couldn?t believe it hadn?t fallen. The night before all were fine. Needless to say I was late for work after scrambling to get them on sturdy footing. So, a word to the wise..... keep an eye on them as spring comes.... if it ever does.....
