Last weeks inspection on my stongest  hive, I found her laying in the upper and lower deeps. I gave them a shallow of honey for extra food, and now shes laying up there. I put on a queen excluder (my first time) and put a empty shallow on with drawn comb today. I will be making a nuc or 2 this year for sure. She isn't shy either, I snapped a photo of her laying. This is a locally grown and mated queen.

Just keep an eye on things. I had a great queen like that too but she didn't last long. I hope it works out for you.

I can see that you feed it with pollen patty. You just give to space that it will not swarm.
