 Hi all,
Today I cut out 4 wax moth grubs. The bees had already removed the comb down to the tunnels. I used a pair of 2 inch pointed pruning shears that are really sharp. I inspected all the comb and did not find any more tracks but I did find one spindle shaped void with no tunnels about an inch long and 3/8 wide, covered with regular comb on both sides. I didn't remove it. I am wondering if I should cut it out, it is on an edge easy to get to.
Any ideas on what it might be?
Thanks
Have a great day!

Gene,
Sounds like an old queen cell. Did it look like a peanut? I would not worrg about it if it was empty. It would indicate that you have a new queen.
