What happened to this frame

That frame was on the outside of the hive, the bigger size on the entrance reducer was on the entrance on the opposite side of where that frame was. There weren't many bees on that frame or right near it they were all on the other side of the hive. I haven't put that frame back it rained yesterday, I have had the frame in my shed and plan to leave the frame near the hive when its not so wet maybe tomorrow to see if the bees want what is in it.

If that frame was outside of the area covered with bees then it is probably mold growing on it.
I would not place it near your hive. If there are any other hives within 2-3 miles they will find it and it could cause robbing. If you want, place it about 100' or more from your hives.
