I've been really busy with a new house renovation and have left the hives to fend for their selves this summer.  Upon noticing very little activity in the doorway of one I decided to open her for an inspection.  There were webs every where and a mat of stuff like dryer lint that took over 30 frames.  Wax moth larveys and cocoons everywhere 30+.  The small hive beetles and their larveys were also helping to mess things up too.  After scraping destroyed comb out and Killing Killing Killing the invaders I had a turf war from invading neighboring bees.  There are dead bees everywhere and today the property has bees flying all over like a swarm is taking place.  Any chance for recovery or is this attempt to grow my pollenators doomed until next spring?

In my opinion you are done this year. And it sounds like you are having a good size Robin incident from bees everywhere and maybe including your own.

I think he meant robbing     ....but it does sound like you are done for this hive.

Thanks all.  I watched The Fat Bee Man video on this.  I'm done with this hive this year.  Time to clean burn and bleach.

What are you burning and why?  There is only one reason to ever burn anything other than fuel in your smoker and that is AFB.  If you don't have AFB there is nothing that needs to burn.
