I really would like to get bees.
What books do you recommend I buy?
What hive should I get and how much honey does 1 hive produce?
Thanks in advance,
Misterbeelady

LK, I can't read it on my computer. I copy/pasted it into the reply box and it came out black.

I'm partial to Michael Bush's book. Not only is he somewhat renown, he'll stop what he's doing and answer your questions. Like it's been said, plenty of good stuff on this website and also on the internet and you tube. Make yourself at home here and post as many questions as you'd like. Tons of experience on here. Post your general location on your profile. A lot of questions are answered more accurately when folks know where your from.

>What books do you recommend I buy?

You can read all of my writing for free on my website.  But if you prefer it in a book, it's available that way too.  I like "The Complete Idiot's Guide to Beekeeping".  Despite the insulting title, Dean and Laurie did an amazing job of starting with the assumption you know nothing and covering the essentials.

>What hive should I get

There have been, over the centuries, an almost limitless assortment of hives.  Bees, being very adaptable do fine in almost any of them.  Some of this depends on how handy you are, what kind of scrap lumber you have available and how much money you have to spend.  Most of my hives are made up of eight frame medium Langstroth boxes.  But I also have a couple of top bar hives and long Langstroth hives.
