Hey, just checked on my hive, and the queen was outside sitting on the hive stand. Its about 65 degress F outside and there is a nice breeze. But when I came near the hive, she scuttled inside very fast. Is there a problem? Doesn't the Queen never leave the hive usually?

Thanks

Michael Bush

I have occassionally seen laying queens in odd places.  I've often seen virgin queens in odd places.  I once found a marked laying queen on the side of the box by herself.  Maybe she was getting a tan.  :)
