Grease Patties

I placed grease patties (11/2 lbs Crisco, 4lbs sugar, 1lb honey, 1oz. wintergreen) in my hives.  After four days, I don't think the bees are having anything to do with them.  I don't even see bees walking across the patties let alone feeding on them.  Is my recipe wrong?  Thanks for any advise.
