How much syrup can they hold?

My 2 hives are both comprised of 2 deeps each.  I've been giving each hive a 1/2 gallon of 2:1 syrup a day for almost a month now.
I keep thinking that they'll slow down taking it, but they still both take the syrup with the same gusto they had at the start of September.

Any idea how much syrup 2 deeps can hold?  Assuming they were mostly out of stores and had only about 2 frames of brood?

I guess I could open them and see where they stand......

Thanks,

You learn when you open the hive.

Have you dimished hives for winter?

When I feed my bees for winter it takes only one week per hive.

If 2 deep hive is almost empty it needs about 50 lbs sugar. Even if bees manage over winter, combs must be full before bees cap the food.

If colony goes into one box it is better for wintering.
