That's actually the first picture I have seen of a drone being dragged out!  Great work!

Wow, what a picture.  If you look closely, it loooks like it takes three girls to drag out a single guy...they must be really quite heavy.  Your bees must still be active outside of the hive.  Mine are all in now, cuddly and warm, didn't even see them yesterday when we had a little break in the clouds, (like they would have ventured out anyways, it was cold).  This morning we woke up to about 4 inches of snow, and it has now snowed maybe 2 more inches and is still coming down, our snow in this area is very wet snow and is very heavy, we live in humidity, moisture and dampness, but it keeps everything green all year (well, except for the deciduous flora, trees).  Our lawns stay green 365 days a year, sometimes burning a little in the summer, but mostly green.  Good thing the bees have the front slot in the inner cover for the airflow.  Great day.  Cindi

   I've got a video of mine pulling drones out with one up to three girls kicking them out.  It was amazing watching the drones fly out and land, then walk around and try getting back in from a different angle.  Others that had all but given up just hung on the edge of the bottom board.  Still others were wrestled to the ground...
Everyone said it couldn't be done. But he with a chuckle replied, "I won't be one to say it is so, until I give it a try."  So he buckled right in with a trace of a grin.  If he had a worry he hid it and he started to sing as he tackled that thing that couldn't be done, and he did it.  (unknown)

Survival.  Bees are certainly of the belief for the survival of the kingdom.  They are very brutal but so darn logical.  They do know how to take care of business with regard to only allowing useful members of their community to be allowed to continue to live in their hive.  great day. Cindi
