First extraction

Did my first extraction today, Wasn't that painful(only three stings) got about 8 gallons. Had i been prepared could have gotten a box of bees based on the amount that were buzzing the extraction site(they weren't mine)

Be very careful Sean, you live in Jamaica. You can havest year round. You will make all of those northern beekeepers very jealous. I live in South Florida. I did my last extraction in Janurary. I won't pull again for a while because I will be traveling for work.

Congradulations on your first extraction.

I want you to know what a beekeeper up north looks like right now sean.


Remember sympathy and understanding for those freezing their their bums off right now. How do we sympathize? We drink frozen margaritas, ya man!

We'll sympathize with you in the August heat!!!!!       Oh wait I'll be in Florida in August........ and Jamaica in September. At least I Jamaica I can go play in Dunns River Falls and beat the heat! Florida I have to do the Disney thing for three days in the heat :'(

We deal with the heat the same way, more frozen margaritias. However the Disney thing anytime of year and you have my sympathy.

actually the year round harvesting depends on where in the island you are. Majority of the beefarmers harvest from Jan to may/june I feel it for you guys up north though with all that snow. Here i am about to do a rain dance.
