Putting together a spare brood box that I acquired from late grandfather. First I actually put all the frames in the bathtub to let them soak (really angry the wife off), but I did clean the tub. Was that o.k to do it that way? After painting the box how many frames should I put in it? Do I use starter comb on them or nothing at all?
Sorry, I've asked a many questions and have recieved great replies, just don't know anyone around home that works with bees anymore. Seems to be a dying breed.

The bees could have cleaned them.

Put in as many as it will hold. If it is a ten frame box put in ten frames. Other wise the bees will have room to mess things up.

It is best to have some sort of guide line for the bees to follow. So they don't just start some where and go every where. This could be a whole sheet of foundation, or starter strips, or wooden guides.
