I picked up my bees today and installed them about 90 minutes ago.  Three, three pounders installed in about 40 minutes. I got chased around the yard a few times... lol and had a bee or two in my shirt as I neglected to pull my Jacket down far enough...  Lesson learned.  got stung about 5 times I would guess.  Hard to tell since only one hurts a bit on my back.  The rest are just little pinches.  Minor stuff.  All in a days work.

The workers were doing the little dance on the entrance (abdomen raised and wings flapping) so that's a good sign.

I do have one concern.  I'm using an upside down gallon paint can  placed over the inner cover.  A fellow beekeeper told me these can be a problem since they leak.  I turned one over before placing in on the inner cover and it leaked for about 5 seconds, then stopped when the air pressure decreased inside the can.  I'll check it tomorrow to make sure I don't have a problem.

I must have been quite a sight, all 220 pounds of me running like a streak through the front yard, shedding gloves, jacket and veil...

If the automobile had followed the same development cycle as the computer, a Rolls-Royce would today cost $100, get a million miles per gallon, and explode once a year, killing everyone inside.
