When I inspected one of my hives today I didn't find any eggs or brood except on the last frame I looked at, an end frame there was a 2 inch circle of larva that filled the bottom of the cell completely. I installed them 10 days ago the weather has been cold. They have gathered lots of pollen there is quite a bit of honey. There also are a few capped domed cells here and there. They have drawn out quite a bit of the comb. My eyes aren't that great eggs would be though to see on the white background but things don't seem right. Any comments welcome.

Thanks,

Dave

pictures help too.  if you have a camera or helper, you can post them and we can all look and learn.

my hives were slow to get started because of the weather.  i wouldn't panic yet.

Keep in mind, pick a warm day to open hives.
If you hold the frame up where the sun can hit inside the cells, with your back to the sun. The egg will stand on end till it hatches. It may appear to be a reflection of some sort. Really small like a white grain of rice. It took me a while before I could see the eggs.
Is the side you found the brood on the side next to the sunny side. You may be having different weather there than what we're having in Georgia. Some time the queen will pick the warm area to start laying
