Our local Beekeeping store gave my name to a lady whose young son has to do a presentation in school on bees/beekeeping.  They came by Sunday afternoon and I was able to give him a demonstration of how a hive works, etc.  We opened two of the hives and let him see what was going on.  Fortunately all went well and the bees were mellow.  His mother took lots of photos and I sent him home with a spare smoker, a built out deep frame of honeycomb, and several old magazines to use for pictures.  I think I had more fun than he did, and he seemed to be having the time of his life.  Attached are a few photos from our foray into the hive.

At least a seed was planted.  maybe when he gives his report at school you'll be contacted for a more indepth presentation.
