So the wife says yes to two more hives here, and my parents said I could put two more on their place.  That'll bring my total to four hives, and I won't have to feel like a one hive poser anymore.  Gotta get busy.  Things to put together, stuff to buy, things to paint. . . . :-D

yes my wife was a little reluctant to start with.  She was amazed with how they just mind their own business I think she had in her mind that the kids were going to be dive-bombed daily as they ran screaming for the house.  So I am doing the same thing putting frames together and buying a little lumber at a time.  I think one more hive in my back yard and I need to find someone that will let me put a couple out on their property.
Be like your ancestors or be different.  It doesn't matter.

I would advise that all new keepers get at least two colonies. This way you have some comparison, and if one is weak and one is strong you have somewhere to get a frame of brood till you find out the problem.
Yes, feed them if they will take it.

Wouldn't that bring your total count to five Mark?

Great news Mark..  I will be expanding as well and am hoping that Glenn does another run next year so we can pick up the packages as early as we did this year.  My bees are still building up which is a shame because there is enough blooming at the moment to support 50 hives here. I have a few acres of wild berry blooming and more tulip than I want to count.

Are yours still working the PC?
