So I went out this last weekend and checked on my mentor's hive (he's out of town). I pulled out a frame, and there was a bee just hatching out!

I just had to share - as this is the first time I'd ever seen it in person, live.

I still can't find my own queen yet - but I see she's still laying eggs - lots of them! When I do find her, you'll be the second people I let know!

Have a great week!

UtahBees.  Very nice pic.  I have never seen pollen pellets in a cell, that was cool too.  I have seen pollen, but it has always been flattened out.  Great, thanks.  Have a wonderful day, great life. Cindi
There are strange things done in the midnight sun by the men who moil for gold.  The Arctic trails have their secret tales that would make your blood run cold.  The Northern Lights have seen queer sights, but the queerest they ever did see, what the night on the marge of Lake Lebarge, I cremated Sam McGee.  Robert Service

Is it just me? All I see is drone cells.

Yes - on that photo there are only drone cells. Maybe she was looking at a different one on the same site??

I saw the pollen pellets. But all the capped brood cells in "May 19 Beekeeping (Quint) (Set)" looks to be drones.
