Is there a map anywhere showing locations of known Beeking Suppliers? :)

A map of a comprehensive list would be great.

I've bought most of my supplies from Brushy Mountain.  They have always been very helpful, with good advice and I've been satisfied with their products.  I visited them once and the store/museum was very informative.  Their catalog has a lot of information that is useful for beginners.

Not that I'm aware of.
Again, this is where it's valuable to be connected to other local beeks who are "in the know". There are many small suppliers: not businesses that have websites or 9-to-5 operations, but guys who make woodenware, or carry stock from major suppliers in their shed, or sell nucs & queens. Very often beeks can avoid high shipping costs if they get "plugged in" and learn where the local suppliers are.

i have ordered from both.  what i like about mannlake is that they have twice had to split my order but they sent what they had, and didn't charge extra for shipping the back ordered stuff later.  the local bee place uses mannlake but sometimes better bee has stuff that that they don't get.

There are three of us at work that are keeping bees. One of the group purchased the white Styrofoam hive components from BetterBee. The delivery was very late and some of the equipment was back ordered. He ended up making several phone calls in a effort to get the equipment in time. Some of the problem could have been averted if they would have called him or sent him some sort of notification of the back orders. He ended up buying addition equipment at the last minute, so that he could house his bees when they arrived.

On the positive side, he really likes his Styrofoam hive components.

I elected to purchase my equipment from Dadant. My experience with them was very good. The service was outstanding and the person running their Chino, California operation was extremely helpful. This gentleman when out of his way to see that everything was satisfactory.

Thanks Bassman1977, the list was very helpful! :)
Guess I'll be trying Rossman, my last order from farther north cost $60.00 in shipping. :'(

Thanks for the link. I've bookmarked Drapers and will take a look at them when I order in the future. My significant other's parents live out that way so it would be an easy trip for them.

Speaking of Betterbee, Justin, the manager was in an article in the Post Star, a newspaper in Glens Falls - about 30 min away from Greenwich. There's a video on their website about installing a package. They have an article on bees, a video, and a few picts.

If you are unsuccessful with the link go to the poststar.com and search for 'all the buzz' (link hopefully will be added soon).

all supliers are struggling this year. It seems lots of new beeks have created huge demands on woodenware and other needed items. I even no some commercial beeks struggling to get certain supplies.

I have had dealings with Drapers also and have nothing but the highest regards for them. But I have not had any real problems with any of them, but I have had your similar plight with Betterbee.Too bad you have to pay extra shipping when the back order is out of your control. The trip to meet the Drapers is well worth it. If you let them know when your coming they will have your order pre picked for you if you wish.I wait to get there so I can chat with them longer!!
