I have gotten different info from a few people on this - should I leave the attendants in the queen cage or remove them before I put the cage in the hive?

I have heard it both ways. Follow your vibe.

You can remove queen cells, place in nuc, insert new queen into hive. If she fails, you will have a new mated queen in your nuc. If new queen suceeds, you have an extra nuc for tough times.
