extracting honey

I am using frames with foundation in them.  I will have only a few frames to extract honey from this year.  If I had known more before I got into beekeeping I would have gone with foundationless frames and used crushed and strain. 

I don't want to buy an extractor for just a few frames.  Are there any suggestions on how to extract the honey with the foundation in the frames?

Join your local/county bee organization, link up with some other beekeepers, and borrow an uncapping knife and extractor from someone in your organization, or see if they'll let you bring your frames to them to extract.

You might be able to uncap the frames and let it drain out.  Could take a while.

Absolutely.  I am a new beekeeper this year and only extracted one super so far.  Joined our group when I got started, met a lot of nice people, and found someone with an extractor to lend me a few weeks ago.  He had an electric knife as well, which is a fantastic tool, by the way. 

As evidenced in this forum, people are delighted to help any way they can.  Just ask.
