I was wondering how those triangular bee escapes actually work, if in fact they work.  Can you make them yourself or should I buy a couple and try them?  I tried bee quick and it didn't work too well for me.  I'm hoping the triangular escapes work better.

I have them and they work fine, I put them under the supers about 24 hours before I take the supers, maybe 5-10 bee's is left, except one time I was in a hurry and put one on upside down, you should have seen the bee's in that one, buy one and try it, never hurts, they all I use!!!
THAT's ME TO THE LEFT JUST 5 MONTHS FROM NOW!!!!!!!!

All you have to do is get the right angles.
I made this one and it was pretty simple and i posted about it here, along with more pics.

Hope that helps

I think they're great! As long as the number of hives you have doesn't make visiting the hives twice a problem (one to put on excluder, second to remove super), they're very reliable. You just can't leave them on too long, because other pests will find their way into the now unguarded supers (like ants).

I also use them as top and bottom covers for the cutouts I do...keeps the box well ventilated in transit, and doesn't allow the bees to escape.
