I'm currently treating my hives with Apigaurd and so after harvesting my supers, I placed them on top of each hive to have the bees clean them up.  Today, after a few days of being out there, I removed the supers.  Underneath one of them was a fair bit of wax and dozens of dead bees.  Some of the bees had been cut in half, heads off.

Any ideas as to what happened?  My first thought is that some yellow jackets may have been robbing the supers too and they got into a fight.

I believe the bald face hornet cuts them in half
