This afternoon during my lunch break I walked down to my hive with the intent of feeding the bees using sugar water in plastic bags, as I've seen mentioned here. This is my second feeding using this technique. My hive is located on the side of hill, behind two small pine trees. As I walked down the hill, I slipped on some mud and quickly slide past the hive on my back. My stuff went flying and I ended up half covered in mud and pine needles. So much for my image as a beek. If bee's could laugh, I'm sure the few bees that were flying about got a chuckle. After cleaning myself off, I fed the girls. It was great to see some of them flying about. We're having a warm spell in the low to mid 40's. This is the first time I've seen any of the girls outside of the hive since early fall. What a wonderful sight. It sure was nice to see them out-and-about. Hopefully, I can take this as the first sign of spring.

Regards,
tucker.
He who would gather honey must bear the sting of the bees.

Tucker, what a funny little story, yep, yep, I saw you, in my mind's eye, slipping right past the girls, them all getting a giggle out of your antics.  It is rather muddy in these northern neck of the woods, now isn't it.  Have a wonderful and awesome day, life, great health.  Cindi
