Just curious as to how many would be up to the challenge.  My wife thinks its a little wild.

certainly, as long as I get to wear swim goggles, a breathing mask,  ear plugs, and a noseclip; I watched video footage of a guy doing a beard and those were the areas the bees tried to crawl that made him uncomfortable.
but they're welcome to crawl all over my face (what isn't guarded with that stuff) and chest. No problem.
(I've never done it but the guy who sold me my 2 nucs has.)
be happy and make others happy.

I guess I don't see the point unless there is something that I'd get from it besides stings in internal cavities

I'm using up all my bravado raising 5 kids, don't have any leftover bravado for bee beards. :-D

You can do it with a package of bees if you like.  Just tuck the queen cage under your chin and dump out the bees.  You'll soon have a bee beard for the entire neighborhood to admire.  Just remember to shave and place the beard and queen in the hive.
Life is a school.  What have you learned?   :brian:      The greatest danger to our society is apathy, vote in every election!

I'm going to try it.  Figured I could post the picture on my bio page here at the college.  I have some intrigued colleagues...LOL.  Suddenly there is a great interest in apiculture.
