1st swarm

Yesterday I caught my 1st swarm. Recently met a local older Beek who call me to let me know he had found this swarm. I went over and with his help we put the swarm in one of my spare hives I had taken over. Went back next morning early we closed off the entrance and I took my hive full of new bees home.

I was surprised to find how many bees were in the hive, so far so good.

Thats great, glad you found somebody close that is willing to teach you of the bees ways.

So are you hooked on collecting swarms yet? I know I am.

With any luck they will build up enough and make it through the winter.
