NOW I understand.  There are two completely different items with the EXACT SAME name.   :-\

The left one is the one we refer to as a migratory lid, and the kind we use here.  I think it is what Ken was referring to in his post.

Thanks for explaining the inner cover, Michael.

Now..I wonder if someone would shed some light on the migratory lid that Jim pointed out.  Is it only used for transportation or does it stay on all the time?  How does it assist in stacking supers?

Is the bee escape only used on inner covers for migratory covers? I don't see the purpose or usefulness for an inner cover with a bee escape in conjunction with a telescoping cover.
