I need to move a frame or two of eggs from one hive to another but the hives are not at the same location.  How long can the frames be out of the hive?

Depends on the temperatures and humidity, and I don't know what those thresholds are, but I'd think that if they are in the 80s and somewhat humid you should have enough time.  Isn't georgia like being in hot soup all summer long?  :-D

below 70 and zero humidity, not so much.

What would the problem of keeping the nurse bees on the frame, throwing the frames in a nuc box sandwiched with a drawn frame.  If you are that concerned with losing the nurse bees you could shake out into the nuc while you were there and take what you can back to the original colony. (If the colony is strong enough to take a couple frames of brood, they probably can afford losing the nurse bees)

Im definitely a new beek... but this would seem to be effective in my mind.

I move frames of eggs and brood as long as an hour setting up trap outs, then they have to wait for enough bees to be trapped to cover them. I don't think 4 hours in 80 degree weather would hurt them.
