I might just need to contact him. I've seen Brushy offering a 100' roll of it for $130. Not a bad price per foot, but I don't need 100' of it at the moment, so the price was a little steep.

I am pretty sure you can buy a foot at a time (hardware cloth) from Jack.

I understand that Bruke Brothers by the fairgrounds in Raleigh has #8 cloth by the foot or 10' rolls.

>Quick question though, did he go over how to feed pollen into an OH without taking it outside and opening it up?

I have a hole on the top with #7 hardware cloth over it so I can put the pollen in.

Haha, hilarious. I used to live two blocks from this place, but never went inside. Thanks for the tip though, I went and picked up a '10 roll yesterday. Kinda funny how you ask an associate for "hardware cloth, #8" and they look at you puzzled, then say "I've got some buried in the back if you want it . . . #8 . . . that's 8 to the inch, right?"

But I guess it's better than Lowes, when you ask them, they just send you to the screen door section, the tarp section, then they say they must not carry it (obviously having no clue what it is).

I'm assuming that yours is 3 deeps or 4 mediums. If you add the pollen to the top, doesn't it just sit on the top bar? Any problems with them not taking it easily/quickly? (I just thought it's necessary/desired to have it in the center of the brood nest)

Michael Bush

Mine is 4 mediums.  If you put too much in the house bees haul it out for trash.  A tablespoon or so every day when they are raising a little early brood is plenty.  It sits on the top bar until they do something with it or it falls down and it either gets used or hauled out.
