Its snowing in Cheney Ks right now. I'm glad our fruit trees haven't bloomed yet. 38 degrees, don"t think it'll hang around long. JD

Keep it there. Don't send it east.

We saw our share this winter.  Been cold lately.  Every morning is in the low teens.  No warm up in sight.  I have 3 packages due in three weeks.  Hope it warms up by then.

You sent it east.

Calling for a April fools day Nor'easter.  Friggen wonderful

Snow is a four letter word here for sure. :-D

What a crazy spring! I usually have quite a lot of greens planted in the garden 2 weeks earlier than this, but it's cold and wet here. Snow flurries last Sat...

.
We had here 60 cm snow and last night it snowed 10 cm more.
Next week snow starts to melt. After 3 weeks it is almost gone from fields.

I've noticed the pattern here to be that we almost always have one last freeze around Easter. - I remember saying "this year Easter is so late that our last freeze will most likely be in March sometime." - I'm not so confident now.

Last year for about 47 seconds. With or without snow, 0*C or below kills produce and garden plants.
edit: the main reason we get no snow in north Florida is not the temperatures, it's very often plenty cold enough to snow at night in January - and to stay through some days, the reason is because it takes two weather fronts to get snow here - one to bring the cold (happens all the time)  and a second to precipitate.

Here in central Wisconsin there is still a full snow cover. Couple of feet thick in some places. It warmed up for a week 40-50 degrees, then it snowed 13" of wet snow, and then back into the low single digits (F) all last week. We are supposed to start hitting about 40 degrees (F) this week. The lakes are still all iced in. Nights are all below freezing and some warm up during the day. At least the sun is out. Same time last year, the snow was gone and the lakes were open water. Cold Winter this year.

My supplier informed me that my packages will be in April 9th.  Time will tell if the snow will be gone.

I have been in a grumpy mood all day because of the silly snow storm.  Pretty much fed up with freezing, shoveling, plowing, getting hat blow off with billion MPH winds, and so on.  Ready to leave the house in a sweatshirt rather than full battle dress.

Yikes, Bill, where are you?!? I'm in central WI, too, but there's only a bit of snow left in the north-facing slopes, thank goodness. My bees come Sat, so thankfully it will be in the 40s or even 50s that day.

We've still got plenty of snow in NW Wisconsin yet.  Although temps are 'finally' starting to break after 8-10 nights of near or below zero temps.  Have had bees flying from remaining survivor colony (lost 4 of 5) with obvious signs of NEW brood hatching (lots of young bees).  South facing hillsides are starting to melt away but the lakes still have a long way to go.  I've got packages coming from Texas on or about April 28.

Although most Rivers and creeks have been open for a couple weeks (trout are running :). Lakes are still frozen solid.

There's still enough ice to drive a truck on most of them around here despite having to remove shacks a couple weeks ago, per local ordnance, which has little to do with weather (its just an arbitrary date selected by bureaucrats based on averages rather than any annual reality).

On a very positive note, especially considering the Gulf Oil Disaster, we "heard" the return of the Sand Hill Cranes yesterday AM in the 80 acre bog (where they've nested and raised young for many years) in front of our home.  Far out :) A very good sign indeed.

luvin honey;
I'm in the Wausau, WI. area. If you go just a little South of us, like the Stevens Point area, there is much less snow. For the most part there is no grass visible anywhere in my yard. That includes areas that receive full sun during the day. Areas on the back (North) side of the house still have 3-4 foot drifts. The past couple days it has warmed up to the high 30s to mid 40s, but night time temps have been dropping into the single to low teens, This is because we have been having clear sunny days lately. It's good to see the sun, but that means cold overnight temps. Maple sap is running like crazy with this weather. The Weather Service says we are in for several (5) days of rain and more snow. What is really funny is that the record high for this date was just last year (2010), and was 79 degrees. I'm really ready for some warmer weather  :-D.

Snow pretty much gone here, but not the cold.  Absolutely a late Spring this year.  Had to purchase more hay for the horses, grass coming in is and will be delayed.
