I cleaned out a deadout yesterday in the wind. This morning I woke up and I could hardly see. My wife looked up allergies from bee propolis and found out it is quite common. But nobody said what to do for it. Is there a remedy?

Kathyp

antihistamine like benadryl or you can try something like loratadine (claritin).  it's less apt to make you sleepy.  i have a problem with propolis sometimes also.  it gets me early in the year when i am first in the hives.  it makes my face itchy.  sometimes the inside of my mouth itches  :-D

You two are bad.

Could the dead out have mold in it?

Kathyp

Allen, i don't think it's mold.  it happens to me with healthy hives.  it happens in the spring when there is still lots of sticky propolis on the hives.  took me a while to figure it out.  funny thing is, i don't have allergies....

when I am in my sauna, and propolis is in my fingers will heaten, it produces fumes which irritate eyes. But my eyes do not swell.

You can use Preparation H, just rub a little over your eyebrow and a little under your eye....the skin above and below will tighten up and your eyes will stay wide open for a couple of days.  Just don't get it in your eyes or you will not be able to open them for a week or two.....it will work the same whereever you use it...LOL.
