Ok Igot inspired this morning. I need to do a check on my ladies. So I donned my veiled, skipped the jacket and left the gloves lying on the ground nearby.  I removed and checked check 9 out of 10 frames for buildup. I admit i used frame grips for the removal. I just wish I could learn to keep my smoker lit for the whole time, mine went out at the end and everybody was on top of the frame when I placed the last one. I even got headbutted a few times. The only thing I didn't see was my queen, but I had several frames of capped brood. I'm always worried i'll mash her or drop her on the ground and step on her.
Just a beek trying to get ready for winter.

To each their own but I wear a bullet proof vest at work and gloves in the bee yard.

Every time I have been stung the reaction is different-from next to nothing to painful swelling.

Its not worth the risk to me.

well i placed my second brood box and did another check on them. All gloveless, found the queen, uncapped and capped brood.
I certainly makes you work slower and more cautiously.
