Call your local game warden you might be able to get a kill permit to take the bear.

I didn't have a camera on mine but I got hit 2 nights in a row about 3 years ago. I put up an electric fence and have not had any problems since. I lost one hive and had a lot of broken frames. Good luck

I know that in North Carolina you can kill a bear if it is endangering your livestock. Bees are considered live stock, but I think you have to catch them in the act. You can not just kill them for walking in the bee yard! This is what I have been told, however I am sure a game warden would know for sure!

Also, I was told this year that placing sheet metal or tin around your hives on the ground helps repel bears. Supposedly, when the bear steps on the metal it will crank and clang. The noise will scare them off. I do not know if this works but I know people in bear country that do it and swear it does!

So far the bear has not been back . The camera is set to take 9 pictures then there is a 1 minute pause so the bear knocked the top box off the left as far as I can figure, yes this spring .Brian

Maybe rig up a few claymore mines around the hive?

Just something to scare the bear. At least it would be fine to watch if you caught it on the game cam since it is a little hard to get the real stuff.
