How to convert frames?

Hey fellas, I keep all my deep bodies on HSC frames. If I purchase a nuc or hive from somewhere how should I go about converting those bees over to my hive bodies with HSC so I can dispose of the frames that come in the purchased hive or nuc? Thank's, Brad

Assuming you are talking about nuc bees on standard foundation, you can just brush/dump  the bees off the nuc combs into the new box full of drawn HSC.  Then set the old frames out in front of the hive so the bees can rob out the honey stores.  You will lose any existing brood, but this is the fastest way to make the switch from large cell foundation to HSC.  

If you don't care about a quick transition, you can add the nuc frames to the new box and gradually move the nuc frames to the outside and up.  Eventually you can remove them when they are empty.

Yep, that's what I would do.... if I used Langstroth hives.... and if I owned an excluder.    :-D   Well, I might wait 21 days since the extra drone brood that emerges in the extra three days will just add varroa to your hive.   :evil:
