So sorry Schawee, Just the thought of that happening to anyone makes me sick.  What makes some people think they are ENTITLED to other peoples belongings?

Whats the Law?
Pretty sure Florida just passed one that put bee's into live Stock
So it would be like someone stole a Horse ,cow, goat
If you have them stamped or some how Id's and have
such a Law this guy is a Felon as of the day he stole your Livestock
Even without the Livestock law there is a net worth,If you contact the
Law and they find him/her at 100 a Nuc how many to become a felon
He stole property
I really have a problems with theft
Good Luck

I dunno, ask the US Congress.

American blood spilled to protect the freedom and peace of people all over the world.  320,000 USA casualties in WWI, 1,076,000 USA casualties in WWII, 128,000 USA casualties in the Korean War, 211,000 casualties in the Vietnam "conflict", 57,000 USA casualties in "War on Terror".  Benghazi, Libya, 13 USA casualties. These figures don't include 70,000 MIA.  But, the leaders of one political party of the United States of America continue to make the statement..."What difference does it make?".

Another beek?  ...

This year I have seen ads on craigslist.org advertising hives w/bees for up to $500 each.  If you are lazy enough and stupid enough to steal, then you are lazy enough and stupid enough to not check the value of a hive of bees before you boost it.

Once a thief realizes he can sell a "hot" bee hive like one does "a pig in a poke," all bets are off.

Gosh, dang blip**ty, E#$^(!!!!! Very sorry to hear about this Schawee!

I am also crossing my fingers that it's an easily prosecutable stranger. The toughest part is when you have an kleptomaniac neighbor with mental issues like my parents' neighbor. She is always stealing stuff because my Dad keeps forgetting to lock the door. He is the typical "absent-minded" professor. She'll steal tiny things one at at time, but things which can drive you insane, like a new nightgown, some violin strings (her daughters play the violin), a few special canned good, things that are harder to notice until too late!!!! And sometimes it's an important item like a nice bracelet or necklace all of a sudden. My parents are too phobic to get a webcam because they think if the woman intrudes and sees the camera, she may break the computer. I told them it's worth the risk because then they can prosecute her for breaking the computer, but again that phobia that what if the webcam doesn't catch online soon enough...they are still undecided....They've lived with this neighbor for over 17 years (sigh!)....I say computers are replaceable-- just use an el-cheapo one and put the real one somewhere else, yadayadayada....

Schawee, I hope you catch them GOOD and prosecute!!!

annette

We have a kleptomaniac patient at work who comes to the desk and tries to steal things off the desk. One day when I was registering her, she lifted my little bee paper weight that I just love. I caught her and took it back without saying a word.

When she comes in to the office, the women in the office take turns watching her that she doesn't have the chance to steal. This is a sickness though, and I think Schawee has a different sort of problem.

Katharina

Get the cam, hide it so it is not visible to the clepto.  Then take it to the local TV station and tell them the story for endless suffering, and that they can't really can get any help because that person is insane.  All you are asking is that this person should not be able to leave her own property without anyone watching over her.  The embarrassment may be so bad that they move.

Well there is a simple way to get even and possibly catch them.  Take and make ya up some jack rocks and spread them suckers around.  Nothing like messing up a set of tires to keep them from comming back and who knows may even catch them if ya live in a small town word seems to get around when someone has a truck hauled in with 4 flat tires jack rocked.  Only thing is remember how many ya put out and bring a magnet before ya go driving around don't want to be on the receaving end yourself by mistake.

OK I'll bite, how do you make a set of jack rocks. I have thought about making up 2x4's to bury with nails just below ground level when a neighbor kept having his front yard tore up by some bratty kids spinning wheels.

The Romans used these very effectively against horses and foot soldiers and they've been used ever since.  When you throw them out they always land with a point facing upwards.

Those gators will do the trick. if you are near brackish waters the crabs will clean up after the gators.
