What are these girls bringing in (Largo, Florida)?  Whatever it is, they have been bringing it in bags full today.

Having fun!

I don't know, but where is your robber screen  :)

If it's early in the morning, it could be Bahia grass. My hives have been bringing it in for months now, but only early in the morning. Larry

Hi BB

The robber screen isn't on there because I moved the bees to a smaller TBH.  I want to make some modifications to the larger hive and also wanted to reduce the space for the time being.  I do have follower boards but the unused space in the hive gets taken over by carpenter ants and earwhigs, wood spiders and (roaches) palmetto bugs. The robbing stopped after I reduced the entrance to one beespace.

The bees in the photo haven't reoriented yet.  They have had all day to move into their new digs.  I will close up the small hive tonight ater it gets dark and I hope the last of them will adjust tomorrow as they set out to forage.

The time stamp on the photo indicates 2:30PM, but since they couldn't off-load, they may have had it since morning.  I will keep an eye on the times.

Having fun!
