I am trying to find any written information about the fact that when the temperature drops below 60 degrees the brazilian pepper honey flow shuts off.  Can anyone help? :-\

Welcome to the site!

I asked a question about Brazilian Pepper about a month ago and never got even one reply. I guess that it is only found in certain parts of Florida. I assume that's where you are from.

I suggest Googling it.

I don't know the answer to your question, but I will offer a couple of comments.

Brazilian Pepper is NOT indigenous to Florida, and here in Pinellas, it is cut down wherever possible because it is so prolific if left unchecked.  There used to be vast stands in all the parks and vacant areas, but not anymore.

My bees were bringing in pollen a few weeks ago and their comb was egg yolk yellow, and I was told THAT was due to BP.  Either way, my bees have not been bringing in much of anything in the last few weeks, so I expect the answer to your question is either "yes" or the BP is done.

I would also suggest that you update your location in your profile so that members know what area you are asking about, and I think you will get you more replies.

Have fun!

I'm sure it is over.  In trying to explain to the Farm Service Agency that cooler temps will shut down the flow.  They have asked for written proof of that and I don't even know where to start.  I appreciate your help.  Hope your bees do well.
