Well guy called me from Sysco

0.68 a pound so that is a No Go on Sysco.

If anyone else knows of a good discount place to buy and dont say wally world.
I have been hitting the G stores while its on sell for .46 a pound. 3 four pound bags for 5 bucks

I would love to find a everyday price of .46 or lower

I am willing to buy in semi large amounts you know 500 or so pounds at a time for the right price.

Hey you LA boys any of you ever buy it direct from the refiners. My dad had friends in McComb MS they were getting huge bags from workers at the refinery in Lakeland, LA

I ran out of sugar today so it will be buy at .50 or higher seeing its not on sell or just wait till thanksgiving sell but that will be pushing it.

Dadant in High Springs, Fl was selling sugar for 36 cents cash per pound earlier this year. Credit card orders were 1 cent per pound more. I drove over and put 1000 pounds in my medium size car so my shipping was just my gas money. I always enjoy going over there anyway.

I don't know if the price has gone up since I bought mine. I think that all of the Dadant Stores sell this sugar. It has an expired date on it and can't be sold in stores, but I've been told that sugar doesn't ever go bad.

If you have one of these stores near you, I would call them and check on price and if they have any on hand. They do run out at certain times of the year. This is a great price if you don't want to buy a semi truck load.

What is a semi truck load?
I would think that would be 30,000 pounds I guess if I was running 600 hives that would be good

If I wanted that much I would try my best to buy it at the refinery they are all over South LA.

find a wholesaler that does their own bagging. i have a source that bags their own here. the ducts that the sugar moves thru leaks. they sweep up whatever hits the floor & sell it in 5 gallon buckets. i'm buying it for .10 per pound.

haddan- 2 things have happened with this source. 1st-there are 3 large beekeeping associations nearby & the word is out so there is a lot of competition. 2nd- they repaired the worst leaks in their duct-work so there is not as much sugar available. so it's the luck of the draw whether they have any or not. you'd be better off finding a similar situation closer to home

what is a place like that called.

I mean I don't even know the word used for a place like that (bagger or packer) ?

I work in the cotton industry so I know there is a deal to be made if you just talk to the right person.

See if you were looking for one bale of cotton 500 pounds I might could get that job done even at really discounted prices.
You can even buy a mini bale of cotton I don't know the pounds it is but its about the size of a 2 foot square give or take I just asked a co worker they sell them for 40 bucks she thinks. So I know there is some unusual stuff out there that people would be happy to sell.
Oh most use the bales for decoration use two of them and a piece of glass for coffee tables or one for a end table but we just make them from scraps.
