I read, in this forum, that one shouldn't wear sunglasses  8-)  around the hives. I wear Rx glasses. Do honey bees react adversely to Rx glasses? Thanks for sharing the knowledge.

I am just about always wearing sunglasses in the field.  Never had a problem.

The only problem I can see is spotting eggs with sunglasses on...

No problem spotting eggs with sunglasses on here, I can't spot them with them off! :-D
But seriously, if you have a veil on I don't think it makes a difference, and with one off, are you doing anything that serious with the hives anyway?  My biggest problem was trying to keep glasses on my face while bending over hives, until someone suggested those sport band thingies that keep them on your head.

I haven't heard this one before.  The only thing I could imagine is a scenario where a bee could get trapped between the lens and your eyeball.  If that were to happen, it might increase the odds of getting stung in the eyeball.  I'm not saying it will, I'm just speculating here.

As Greenbtree says, always a good idea to at least wear a head net around bees to prevent this potential problem.

I wear prescription glasses always. I wouldn't know if the bees react adversely unless they stung me since I would not be able to see them without my glasses :)

may be the idea is that the bee's can target those two dark spots on your white face easier

I think the only hazard is wearing them under a veil and sweat dripping on them and blinding me.  I opten finish with the glasses hanging in the bottom of my veil.  But, old fat men sweat.

Yes they do Vance, yes they do! :)
