GeezzzBeezzz

Hi, my name is Greg and I am the proud owner of Geez Beez ... a single bee hive on an otherwise empty rooftop in an industrial area on the North Side of Chicago.
Just want to say that if someone told me a year ago I would be typing away on a beekeeping forum I would have thought they were nuts. But I've caught the bug - so to speak.
My Grandfather kept twelve hives in the old country and I enjoyed all the stories growing up. This year quite suddenly I decided I wanted to keep bees. I don't know where it came from or why but a beginners intro course by David Burns, a few good books and hours and hours of watching videos later - here I am - among all of you fine peeps. I look forward to learning lots and sharing all my mistakes so you can get a good laugh now and then. I do have one major concern - is it true bees don't like people who smell bad? Only joking I don't smell bad. But really is that true?

Welcome to the forum and with the bees, they don't care, after you smoke them.  There are a lot of old wives tales like that, wearing perfume, wearing dark colored clothes.   All false.
